Our Commitment to Accessibility

Distill is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, applying the relevant accessibility standards, and ensuring our platform is usable regardless of ability.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Distill strives to conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards across all core web components, reflection interfaces, and marketing pages.

Accessibility Features Implemented

  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements, reflection forms, and modal dialogs are fully navigable via standard keyboard controls (`Tab`, `Enter`, `Space`, `Esc`).
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: Proper semantic HTML5 tags (<main>, <nav>, <header>, <section>) and explicit ARIA labels are used for screen reader software such as VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.
  • Color Contrast & Typography: High-contrast color palettes (dark-mode and warm brutalist themes) designed to exceed standard contrast ratio thresholds for low-vision users.
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus rings on input fields, buttons, and navigation links.
  • Reduced Motion Support: Respects the `prefers-reduced-motion` system setting to disable complex animations for users prone to vestibular disorders.
